Mission: Impossible 2

Year Of Release: 2000

Run Time: 2 Hours 3 Minutes

Director: John Woo

Rated: PG-13

Ethan Hunt’s (Tom Cruise) vacation is cut short when he is asked to lead an IMF team. After meeting up with his supervisor, Ethan is asked to add an addition to the team, Nyah (Thandie Newton), a woman known for being great at stealing valuables. Their goal is to get ahold of a deadly virus before it is released by terrorists. But that’s not the only problem. Another team lead by an IMF agent turned bad is also after the virus, but being one step ahead of Ethan and his team, they have the cure.

Okay, so we took one step forward, but one step back from the last film. We have a more clear plot and it’s easier to follow, but there is less teamwork and it’s not as fun to watch, you choose. But the fun is suppressed even more now because killing people is out of the option for Ethan Hunt, not like James Bond who cleans up the streets with a gun. And if you thought Austin Powers was a knock off of James Bond, Mission Impossible is anything but it. Aside from crazy stunts, great pickup lines and British accents, Mission Impossible is a futuristic 007 film. Only time will tell if the Mission: Impossible franchise will overcome one of the greatest movie series of all time.

Highly Recommended
